COMPLETION OF BLANCO LIBRARY RENOVATION AND EXPANSION PROJECT

We are pleased to announce the completion of the Blanco Library Renovation and Expansion Project funded by the Friends of the Blanco Library. On February 9th, the Blanco Women’s Club held an Open House Reception to celebrate its completion. The event was to present the Blanco Library’s completed Expansion Project to the community and honor and dedicate the new wing to Patricia I. Ryan.

The interior of the existing 1950’s building was renovated with new flooring, doors and paint. The project included reconfiguring offices and adding a porch extension with a handicap access ramp and automatic door opening systems for Americans with Disabilities Act access, in addition to other upgrades during the remodeling.  We also added 2,788 square feet, which houses a new audio/visual conference area, two new study rooms, a quiet room, a new staff kitchen and break room, three new storage rooms, and new bathrooms which are ADA compliant.

We matched the existing stone exterior and the forest green standing seam roof with a patina green roof product to help keep the look consistent and seamless. This is one of several library renovations we have done through the years.

The entire Blanco community was very accommodating and it was a pleasure to work with those in charge of the project.
